Made at Carbost on the Isle of Skye, Talisker is famous for its explosive pepper heat, sea-spray and a gentle wisp of smoke.

Nose

Sea spray, smoked fish, white pepper, sweet barley.

Palate

Sweet-then-peppery; peat, orange, chilli heat.

Finish

Very long, warming, with salt and pepper echoes.

Ten years in refill American oak casks at Carbost, within sight of Loch Harport.

Sea lochs, basalt, wild weather. The still design — with distinctive purifier pipes — adds weight and sulphury depth.
