THE STORY

Double Cask marries American and European sherry-seasoned oak for a plush, golden Macallan with a gentle spice and honeyed sweetness.

Nose

Vanilla, ginger, dried fruit, citrus zest.

Palate

Sweet and spicy; sultana, baking spice, soft oak.

Finish

Medium; warm, gently drying with ginger and vanilla.

Aging process

Twelve years in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak casks.

Terroir & region

Easter Elchies estate on the Spey. Small stills and a narrow ‘cut’ create a rich, fruity new-make.
