THE STORY

Japan’s oldest malt whisky distillery, founded 1923 near Kyoto, makes a delicate, fruity, incense-edged whisky.

Nose

Peach, strawberry, coconut, incense.

Palate

Cranberry, vanilla, sandalwood, gentle spice.

Finish

Long, with Japanese oak spice and sweet fruit.

Aging process

Twelve years in a mix of casks including mizunara (Japanese oak), sherry and American oak.

Terroir & region

Yamazaki, where three rivers meet; misty humid air and mixed barley.

Rare bottle spotlight

After a surge in global demand, Yamazaki’s age-stated bottlings became some of the most allocated whiskies on earth, selling out in minutes.

The club never sells bottles. Hunt responsibly — and beware of counterfeit listings.
